Dear Miss Euphemia.
The unsettled state of the weather has probably been the cause of your deferring your
visit to the Gardens. I waited on Wednesday & Thursday for about an hour at my Yarra
bridge to receive you, and now hope to have the pleasure of seeing you when the weather
becomes fair again. I shall be a good deal from home this week, but will if not actually
prevented by pressing Governments engagements attend on you any day you may appoint.
I have a small present in readiness, which I wished to send to you in commemoration
of your next birthday, if you allow me to do so; If I not hear to the contrary from
you I will send it on the morning of the 5. November to your present residence, trusting
that you will accept the gift as a small mark of my esteem.
Believe me to remain in sincere friendship
yours
Ferd. Mueller
