Dear Sir William
By last mail I was requested in a letter from Sir Will. Denison
to ascertain, whether not any copies of Jerdons forthcoming work on the birds of
India
could be subscribed for in this colony, and I beg therefore to ask, whether not perhaps
the Library might be enriched by this work. I would beg to recommend it to your friendly
consideration, in as much as manifold relations exist between the ornithology of India
& this country and thus such a work as Mr Jerdons would be of importance to the Australian
Student.

The price of this publication appears to me moderate.

With sentiments of highest regard
dear Sir William
