This is one of three letters of introduction to A. Gregory for Thomas (later Sir Thomas)
McIlwraith that are filed together, the other two being by J. O'Shannasy and C. Ligar.
My dear Mr Gregory.
The Bearer Mr Macillwraithe, who has been engaged in Victoria extensively in Railway
contracts, intends to occupy some of the magnificent land of your colony for sheep
pastures. Mr Macillwraithe has been recommended to my attention by Mr. Bruce,
whom you will know by his gigantic railway operations and as Mr Macillwraithe is
a talented professional Gentleman besides, likely to engage in some of the public
works of your country, I feel doubly a pleasure to ask from you in your influential
position the kindness to advise this Gentleman & aid him in his undertakings.

With unalterable feelings of regard,
dear Sir,
yours
Ferd. Mueller.
