Letter not found. For the text given here, see South Bourke standard, 6 June 1862, p. 3. The news item is a report of the meeting of the Cemetery Trustees held on 4 June in the Town Hall, Hawthorn. The quoted text is introduced by 'The Secretary reported that upwards of six hundred plants and shrubs had been obtained form the Botanical Gardens for the purpose of ornamenting the grounds'.
