Letter not found. The text given here is from 'A new grass', Yeoman, and Australian acclimatiser, 10 May 1862, p.1. The article discusses Cynodon dactylon, dogs-tooth grass, and states: 'We think this description of grass would well repay
the sheep-farmer for a little trouble bestowed on its cultivation'. The article was
reprinted in Argus, 16 May 1862, p. 3, and Cornwall chronicle (Launceston, Tas.), 21 May 1862, p. 2.

Mueller listed two different species of Cynodon from north-western Australia in M to W. Hooker, 18 June 1856 (B56.11.01) and C. dactylon as found in Victoria in B53.10.01, p. 21. By 1873, M noted that C. dactylon was to be found all over the Australian continent, but not naturally in Tasmania
or New Zealand (B73.11.03, p. 113).
