Letter not found. The text given here is extracted from the minutes of the meeting held on 13 May 1862 at which M's letter was read. It is dated to May 1862 as the latest it could have been written.
[From Dr Mueller Government Botanist, in reply to an application for Shrubs and Seeds for the Hospital Reserve stating that personal application must be made.]

M's letter was referred to a committee appointed to make the necessary arrangements for receiving the shrubs and seeds for the Hospital reserve. At its meeting on 3 June 1862, the committee passed a vote of thanks to Thomas Fisher who had applied to and received from M the shrubs and seeds and it also stated that a practical man had to be engaged to prepare the ground and plant the shrubs.
