My dear Sir.
It was only last evening, when I learnt from Dr Eades, that the adjudication of the
Exam. papers is required immediately.
I waited previously on Dr Eades in order to arrange for a meeting of us to consider
the merits of the papers conjointly, but found him not at home and did not hear of
my colleagues arrangements until last night. I had my papers ready since the last
week and in as much as it seems not necessary that we should judge on them jointly
I will send them to you directly, as otherwise further delay would arise. I am at
present engaged in a meeting here,
but will endeavour to send the papers tonight or early tomorrow.

M and Richard Eades were joint examiners of Materia Medica, Therapeutics, and writing
prescriptions without abbreviations at the Melbourne Medical School. For the 1862
examination see B62.14.02.

i.e. at the Board of Agriculture's office in Lonsdale Street, Melbourne; see Argus, 15 March 1862, p. 6. The press reports indicate, however, that the meeting was held
on 13 March, so it would appear that M mis-dated his letter.
Very regardfully
yours
Ferd Mueller.
I received your official call for the papers only last night.
