Sir
I have much pleasure in informing you that the honorable the Chief Secretary has been
pleased to approve of my recommendation, that the V. G. M. I. Society
may avail itself of the Botanic Gardens, for holding their intended Spring Exhibition,
& that the customary entrance fee may be raised at the garden gates on the occasion,
provided that the Society will not enforce such contributions from those persons who may be unwilling to give up the general privilege of the public,
to have free access to the gardens. I beg to add that the Society will find me most
ready to render such assistance as may be within my power, for the furtherance of
the Exhibition —
