Contingency Authority for 2 Reams of the plant paper to be delivd. at yr. office "to hold plants for the Herbarium of the N. M." You know I am very particular in having it clearly understood that the University has nothing to do with any of the public property, specimens or otherwise of the N. M. of which I am Director.

McCoy was both Professor of Natural Science at the University of Melbourne and, with no extra salary, Director of the National Museum of Victoria, which was located in the grounds of the University.
