Town Clerk's Office
Town Hall, Melbourne
2nd May 1861
My dear Sir
Permit me to apologise for having left your note unanswered.
1
M to E. FitzGibbon, 12 April 1861.
I was unable to give any certain assurance of possession of the site of the tent to the good man who brought your note to me.
In reference to the tree guards the City Surveyor will be happy to deliver the materials of them, uprights, rails, battens &c, to any person whom you may send to the Town Hall for them.
2
A reminder of the promise to supply the tree guards was made in M to E. FitzGibbon, 30 April 1861; this letter was acknowledged in M to E. FitzGibbon, 6 May 1861.
Yours very faithfully
E. G. FitzGibbon
Town Clerk
Dr. Mueller
Botanical Gardens.
