[Mr P. Ramel communicates to the President a letter that he has received from Mr Ferd.
Mueller (of Melbourne), by which our honorable colleague informs him that he has just
sent a pair of Australian Eagles to the Society, not, he said, for the purpose pursued
by the Society,
but only for the adornment of the menagerie. Mr Mueller adds that he is busy collecting
the
that Mr Ramel requested; that only the lack of space on the last ships prevented
him from sending a pair of Cassowaries;
and that he still hopes next year to send us the living Lyre bird.
