A report of a later meeting of the Chamber of Commerce, Herald (Melbourne), 15 April 1862, p, 5, states that the letter from M had been published. No published letter to the Chamber of Commerce has been found and it is probable that the letter to the Chamber of Commerce was a copy of M to J. Brooke, 18 April 1861, perhaps enclosed with a covering letter.
