Es soll mir zur Freude gereichen, Ihnen für die Bonplandia, so oft sich die Gelengenheit darbietet, Beiträge zu liefern, namentlich kurze Notizen. So mag es Sie interessiren, dass sich neulich eine herrliche Species von
Pterospermum

in den Wäldern von Illawarra gefunden hat, und dass das Genus
Echinospermum

Search for Echinospermum in

in eine sehr ausgezeichneten Art in den Wüsten um den Torsus See, am St. Vincent-Golf und am Murray-Flusse vertreten ist. Dass ich in den australischen Alpen ein neues Genus der Vaccineen, welches ich dem vortrefflichen Dr. Wittstein zugeeignet, entdeckt habe, wird Sie wohl wundern. Die Frucht sah ich noch nicht, werde solche aber wohl zu untersuchen Gelegenheit haben, wenn ich meine neue Alpenreise im März ausführe. Wie Sie aus meinem gesendeten amtlichen Berichte ersehen werden, entdeckte ich neue hohe Gebirgszüge, Albert Range und Haidinger Range, erstieg auch das vormals nie betretene Baw-baw-Gebirge.

I have not seen the fruit yet, but shall probably have the opportunity to investigate when I undertake my new alpine journey in March. As you will see from my official report sent, I discovered new high mountain ranges, Albert Range and Haidinger Range, also climbed the Baw Baw mountains never before trodden.
