My dear Sir Redmond
Being engaged in putting the extensive botanical Collections for public inspection
into order for my museum, a desire has arisen with me, to form a separate herbarium
of Victorian plants, in order that Visitors & students may have an easier view over
the plants indigenous to this country.
As it seems, that after all your noble library is not the best receptacle for such
collections & as it would in my multifarious engagements safe
me much labour in forming such a collection, I beg leave to ask you, whether there
could be any abjection
of having the herbarium conveyed from the Library to the Museum of this establishment?
1
save?
2
objection?

By allowing such an arrangement to take place, you, my worthy Sir Redmond,
you would greatly oblige
your very attached
Ferd. Mueller.
His Honor
Sir Redm. Barry
