Dear Sir
I have to express my gratitude for your kindness of procuring for me and transmitting the interesting specimens gathered in the scrubs around Mount Serle.

SA.
These will, even if they contain no novelty, still be a valuable acquisition to our herbarium as I am anxious to have the range of the various species of plants over the country. At the same time I shall have an opportunity of publicly acknowledging the friendly interests of and support to my labours, which I have again experienced from the enlightened head of your department,

Peter Warburton.
in scrupulously stating in my publications from whence the material arrived.
I need not say that any specimens of plants from the interior of your colony will always be welcome and of scientific use, & that I shall be most happy to render any services in reciprocation whenever called upon.
I trust the sufferings of the excellent Major Warburton have not been over-great in his last journey, when season & country was so much to his disadvantage.

Warburton had been exploring in barren country north-west of Streaky Bay, SA.
Mr Goyder was friendly enough to promise also some specimens from his lately surveyed country. Would you kindly render me the service of soliciting from him, that he will forward, if arrived in Adelaide, any plants intended for my examination to the obliging Capt Cadell, who is on his way to Adelaide now
Very regardfully
dear Sir,
yours
Ferd. Mueller
Geo. Hamilton Esq.
