On 13 November 1860 the Under Secretary, J. Moore, asked: 'If the Govt Printer can undertake this work he will be good enough to communicate with Dr Mueller.' The Government Printer, J. Ferres, replied, 15 November: 'The work is now in hand'.
There was a change of government soon afterwards and M renewed his request to the new Chief Secretary; see M to R. Heales, 27 November 1860 (in this edition as 60-11-27a).
I have the honor to be,
Sir,
your most obedient servant
Ferd. Mueller.
The honorable the Chief Secretary
