Melbourne bot. & zool Garden,
25. Oct. 1860
My dear Prof. Planchon.
I received your letter duely, requesting me to send you vegetable products of this country for your pharmaceutical Museum. I will gladly do so at the end of this season, when I will be able to offer you many other things.
Allow me to ask you, whether you could kindly manage it for us, to transmit to us from Malta or elsewhere the Bergamotte Lemon? It is as yet not in this country & I have no doubt it would thrive here well.
I am delighted to hear of the progress of your meritorius work on the plants of New Granada.

Now Colombia. Planchon was co-author of a series of co-authored papers commencing with Triana & Planchon (1862), later collected and issued as the first of two volumes (Triana & Planchon (1862-67)). See also TL2 publication number 15-140 for details of the journal papers, including later ones not collected in the reprint. Note that TL2 wrongly cites pages 191-254 of vol. 17 as belonging to this series.
I am not so rapidly progressing with "the plants of Victoria", my time being engaged professionally in many other duties. Still I hope to have the pleasure of laying before you the first volume early in 1861.
