In reply to your communication dated 18th Instant,

Letter not found; however, see M to J. Service, 9 August 1860, and C. Hodgkinson to M, 14 August 1860.

I beg to inform you that the nearest locality from which tea tree scrub can be obtained is that indicated by red tint on annexed plan,

vizt. the reserved portion 204, parish of Prahran, situated about six (6) miles from Melbourne, on the Gardiners Creek.

There will be no objection to the scrub being removed from the ground specified, for the purpose mentioned in your letter, under your directions.
