On 9 July 1860, the Under Treasurer, E. Symonds, had forwarded to Nicholson for completion an account to reimburse the Botanical agent for payment made to Henderson & Co. The account was referred to M on the same day, annotated: 'the a/c to be pd fr vote of curt [currrent] year &c.'
On 2 August 1860, Symonds wrote again to Nicholson, fowarding for completion and quotation of authority an account for £26.11.9 being payment to Henderson & Co. for seeds. The letter was referred back to the Treasurer on 14 August annotated: 'see min on P6389' (i.e. on M's letter) (No. 6805, vol. 1860 Q, VPRS 1168/P, Public Record Office, Victoria).
