On 28 June 1860 the Under Secretary, J. Moore, asked: 'Dr Mueller will oblige by so altering the account as to make the claimants' signature and names agree, as I do not think the Treasury would pass it otherwise.' M replied on 7 July: 'Altered account submitted accord to Mr Moore's request'. Moore responded in an undated minute, 'Dear Sir, Is it not the same account that you have returned?', to which M replied on 19 July 1860: 'My dear Mr. Moore, I am under the impression, that I forwarded, along with the old account, an altered one. I returned the old one, because it bore your No.'.
