Sir
I have the honor to solicit, that you will be pleased to sanction the liquidation
of the byefollowing account for seeds, ordered from Messrs James Carter & Co of London,
through the Agent General of the colony Victoria in London, the claimant having failed
to appoint a party in Melbourne to receive at the treasury of this city the amount
due, & payable out of the vote of "purchase of plants" placed by your Honor at my
disposal.

) has been charged against the vote for "Purchase of Plants 1860".' On 16 June, M
noted on the file: "Messrs James Carter & Co have been informed by this mail, that
His Honor the Chief Secretary has been pleased to order the liquidation of the debt
through the Colonial Agent, London.' Letter not found.
