Ramel fait parvenir … une copie traduite en français d'une letter qui lui a été adressée par M. le docteur Ferdinand Mueller, directeur du Jardin botanique et zoologique de Melbourne (Australie), en date du 24 avril dernier. Après avoir remercié M. Ramel pour une caisse de semences de Platane occidental qu'il lui a envoyées, M. Mueller lui exprime son espoir de faire prochainement un premier envoi de plantes et d'animaux à la Société impériale d'acclimatation, dont le but d'utilité universelle l'a vivement frappé et à laquelle il s'empressera toujours de donner son concours le plus actif.]

[Mr Ramel forwarded … a copy translated into French of a letter addressed to him by Dr Ferdinand Mueller, director of the Botanic and Zoological Garden of Melbourne (Australia), dated 24 April last. After having thanked Mr Ramel for a box of seeds of the western Plane tree that he sent him, Mr Mueller expressed to him his hope of shortly making a first sending of plants and animals to the Imperial Society of Acclimatation, whose aim of universal benefit struck him keenly and to which he will always be eager to give his most active co-operation.]

The report was followed by 'Les remerciements de la Société seront adressés à M. Ramel, qui sera prié de les transmettre à M. le docteur Mueller' [The Society's thanks will be sent to Mr Ramel, who will be asked to transmit them to Dr Mueller]. Ramel's letter to M has not been found.
