The Col. Sec. of Tasmania has received the following message from London.
'I am off to Liverpool to ship 30,000 Salmon ova, just obtained for me in Wales; they
go to Melbourne, please make arrangements to receive them.'
1
The information would have been sent by James Yuol: 'The care and supervision of the
shipment were attended to personally by Mr. James A. Youl' (Liverpool mercury, 28 February 1860, p. 4). The vessel sailed from Liverpool on 25 February 1860. Youl
was in Liverpool by 20 February 1860 (Youl (1860)).
It is expected that the next overland mail will bring fuller advices; but if the ova
should be put in a clipper ship, & arrive before the next mail, can Dr Mueller oblige
by sparing one of his servants to take charge of the ova, & bring them on to Hobart
Town by the 'Tasmania' Steamer, or, failing her, by some sailing vessel.
