The expedition of which Robert O'Hara Burke was appointed leader on 30 June 1860, and which became known as the Burke & Wills Exploring Expedition, 1860-1.

As to his application to join it I have only to say that he is of robust habit about 27 years of age of good character — his letters explain his ability —
