Dear Sir,
I am in receipt of your favor of the 19th Inst
— and by todays steamer "
City of Sydney
" beg to forward you what I have left of the Parcel of Coca leaves given me by Mr Lidger
the parcel was originally made up for the Victorian Expedition, but as they neither
applied for it, nor answered my letter concerning it — the parcel was placed at my
disposal by Mr Ledger — and I have made several small presents of some of its contents — the remainder I have much pleasure in forwarding to your
better care
