A letter was read from Professor Müller acceding to the request for the use of the Botanical Gardens.]

The suggestion of holding a military concert was raised at the Board meeting of 20 October 1859, and at the next meeting a week later (27 October) it was reported that M had agreed to the suggestion. The meeting of 15 November agreed to write a letter of thanks to him. Letter not found. The military concert was held on 31 December 1859 and raised £122.9.0 for the hospital.
