M's letter was referred back to him on 15 October 1859 annotated: '"Boiler" cannot be charged agst the authy quoted'. The relevant authority has not been found; the boiler was almost certainly by the metal worker Gebendinger.
The index entry for this item includes a fourth account, 'F. Mueller £2.10.0', but this does not appear in the register; M was probably advised informally to claim the sum involved, presumably a reimbursement of some kind, in a different way.
