Letter not found. The text given here is from a report of the meeting of the Commissioners for Sewers and Water Supply held on 1 September 1859 (Argus, 2 September 1859, p. 4).
[A letter was read from Dr. Mueller, the Government Botanist, requesting the donation of a portion of watercress seed lately imported from England, through the agency of Mr. Commissioner Powlett, from Mr. Harrison, nurseryman to the Queen, in order to its being sown in the Botanic Gardens. The Commissioners directed that 1 lb. of the seed should be forwarded to Mueller,
