Letter not found. The text given here is from a section headed 'Ornamental plants' in a report of the meeting of the Melbourne City Council on 11 July 1859 (Argus, 12 July 1859, p. 6). M's letter to Goodall is dated to the beginning of July 1859 as the latest possible date it could have been written for Goodall to be able to forward it in time for the meeting.
[A letter from Mr. Harley Goodall, offering to supply the Corporation with between 500 and 600 plants, chiefly of the genus abies, and enclosing Dr. Mueller's opinion on the same, was read, and referred to the Health Committee.]
