Letter not found; item is part of the minutes of the Municipal Council meeting held on 29 June 1859. M's letter is dated from Bradshaw's reply, E. Bradshaw to M, 30 June 1859 (in this edition as 59-06-30c).
A planting committee was formed in St Kilda on 20 April 1859 that instructed Bradshaw, the Town Clerk, to write to the Chief Secretary 'for authority to get some trees and shrubs from the Botanic Gardens for the purpose of planting the Esplanade, Fitzroy St and the Melbourne Road'.
[A letter was received from M 'stating that he would be happy to supply such plants as could be spared for planting the Municipality'.]
