See J. Moore to M, 1 February 1859.
I have the honor to solicit, that permission may be granted for the loan of one of the large Police-waggons, to convey the Llama Alpacas to the gardens from the landing-place, should it not be possible to drive the animals out in a flock.
I have the honor to be,
Sir,
your most obedient servant
Ferd. Mueller.

On 3 February 1859 Moore referred M's letter to the Chief Commissioner of Police, F. Standish. Standish replied on 7 February: 'This can be arranged without any difficulty — I would suggest that when the Waggon is required Dr Mueller be requested to apply to the Officer in Charge of the Police Depôt at Richmond, whom I have instructed accordingly'.
