M was Vice-President of the Institute at the time but did not attend this meeting.
suggesting that the Council should endeavour to obtain the services of not less than 10 men and an overseer for not less than one month from the immigration depot beyond Princes Bridge, with the view of preparing the ground of the Institute for ornamentation by shrubs &c. was received]

The Secretary, J. Macadam, was 'instructed to communicate with Dr Eades’. The Institute had recently been granted the triangular block of land on the north edge of the town on which it was to erect its permanent home. Eades was both a member of the Institute and a City Councillor.
