I have the honor to solicit, that you will be pleased to place at my disposal the sum of seven hundred pounds Sterling, being the balance left from the vote of wages granted to the botanic Garden
I also beg to solicit for the renewal of your quarterly authority, to expend the remaining sum of the vote for purchase of plants, the balance being £125 one hundred and twenty five pounds.
A tender having been accepted by the Hon. the Chief Commissioner of public works for the completion of the fence at the zoological Gardens at an cost of £590 I have the honor to propose, that from the Balance of £210 thus remaining of the £800 originally sanctioned by you for this purpose £150 One hundred and fifty pounds may be devoted for the employment of labourers at the rate of 9/— daily wages during the remainder of the year, and that in this authority also a small outlay in wages during the past month of September, which we were obliged to incurr, may be included.
