The name of the Society was changed to Royal Society of Tasmania in 1855. It would appear that the Society had not yet obtained a supply of new letterhead paper.

I have the honor to acquaint you that at a General Meeting of the Royal Society of Van Diemen's Land, held on 11th instant , you were duly elected an Honorary Corresponding Member of the Society.
