[Im Namen von Herrn Dr. Müller in Melbourne habe ich Ihnen beifolgende Sachen zu übersenden, und die einliegende Anzeige bitte ich, in die botan. Zeitung aufzunehmen. Hoffentlich haben Sie mein letztes Schreiben erhalten, dem die Bearbeitung der Rhamnaceae von Dr. Reisseck beilag . Dr. Müller, dem es jetzt gut geht u der viel mit seinem botanischen Garten zu thun hat, schreibt mir, dass er das ihm von der Linnaea fehlende gerne im Tausche gegen Pflanzen von Ihnen zu erhalten wünscht. Ich weiss nicht, ob Sie nicht vielleicht schon früher mit ihm darüber correspondiert haben, aus einer kürzlich mir eingesandten Liste seiner Bücher sehe ich dass er besitzt. 1852, 1853, 1855. 1854 bloß Heft 4 u 5 und 1856 bloss Heft. 5. D as wäre also das, was Sie mir für ihn geschickt haben. Wenn Sie auf seinen Vorschlag eingehen wollen, so könnte im November, wo eine grosse Sendung anderer Sachen nach Melbourne abgeht, das von Ihnen eingesandte mit verpackt werden. Ich habe in der letzten Zeit entschieden kleinere Pflanzensendungen von Dr. Müller erhalten, was an Doubletten dabei ist, will ich Ihnen gerne gleich überlassen es wird aber nicht viel sein u ca. 200 Arten nicht übersteigen, es kommen jetzt wenig Doubletten. ]

Enclosures not found. However, there is a long summary of M's latest report, prepared by 'S' (B57.09.01), in Botanische Zeitung, 24 September 1858, p. 296.

The advertisement that appeared in Botanische Zeitung, 20 August 1858, p. 256 (B58.08.01), also published in Hamburger Garten- und Blumen -Z eitung, vol. 14, p. 383 (B58.08.03) (see M to the Editor of the Hamburger Garten- und Blumen-Zeitung, 15 March 1858 (in this edition as 58-03-15a)) is almost certainly the text concerned, and the present letter is dated on that basis.

It is to be hoped that you have received my last letter, which included Dr Reisseck's treatment of the Rhamnaceae.

Dr Mueller, who is now doing well and has much to do with his botanical garden, writes to me that he would like to receive from you what he is missing from the Linnaea in exchange for plants. I do not know whether you have not perhaps already corresponded with him about this. From a list of his books recently sent to me, I see that he has: 1852, 1853, 1855. 1854 only parts 4 and 5 and 1856 only part 5. That would be what you sent me for him. If you are willing to accept his suggestion, then in November, when a large consignment of other things leaves for Melbourne, what you sent could be packed along with it. I have recently received decidedly smaller consignments of plants from Dr Mueller, and I will gladly let you have the duplicates, but they will not be many and will not exceed approx. 200 species, as there are few duplicates now.]
