Sir,—

As it appears not be generally known that by the kind permission of Major Leslie and the Officers of the 40th Regiment their band will play regularly at the Botanic Garden every Wednesday afternoon during the summer months, I hope you will pardon me when I solicit you to give a brief notice to that effect in your paper, for which numerous ladies and gentlemen would become greatly indebted to you.
