Major Christie brings you the book of Bunce on Leichhardts second journey. It is but a poor affair, and wrong to insult the dead man, even if he acted quite as stated.

Three charts showing the route of the North Australian Exploring Expedition, certified by Gregory and lithographed by Allan & Wigley in Sydney in early 1857, have been identified: N. W. Australia shewing the route of the North Australian Expedition September 1855 to May 1856; N. W. Australia shewing the route of the North Australian Expedition, June to August 1856; and N. E. Australia shewing the route of the North Australian Expedition, September to November 1856. These cover respectively the journey from Point Pearce near the mouth of the Victoria River to what Gregory called Termination Lake (now Lake Gregory, WA); from the Victoria River to the Gulf of Carpentaria; and from the Gulf of Carpentaria to Port Curtis. The only known copy of the first map is at The National Archive, London: MFQ 1/259: 1 item extracted from CO 201/498 [New South Wales Original Correspondence. Correspondence, Original - Secretary of State. Despatches, 01 Jan 1857 -31 May 1857].
