My dear Mr Gunn,
I send with the "Black Swan" leaving to morrow, your books back again, and thank you very much for the kindness which you have shown to me, in lending me these fine works.

I hope that they will safely reach. The alterations which I had to make in consequence of getting access to these works, were but unconsiderable, still it caused the alteration of a few names. Were I not at the eve of my departure for Sydney, having received leave of absence for 18 months to go to some other part of Australia, I should write you a long botanical letter. Thus I am compelled to say only farewell.
Can Dr. Milligan not give me the assistance in his power , by sending Endlichers genera?

I should be so glad to take it on my journey, and shall pay for it of course. Please my dear Sir use your influence with him, and let it, if he concedes, be send to Sydney, care of Mr Moore
