Letter not seen. The text given here is from Tkach, Neubauer & Roser (2022), Brief 20, W. Sonder to D. von Schlechtendal., 8 March 1855. The letter is mostly concerned with the arrangements for publishing the series 'Plantae Muellerianae' in Schlechtendal's journal Linnaea, iand enclosing the MS for Bentham (1853), actually published in May 1855 (TL2). Sonder also wrote 'ich möchte für Dr. Müller noch einiges kaufen, namentlich wäre es mir lieb, den Labillardière (Plant. Nov. Hollandiae) zu erstehen' [I would like to buy a few more things for Dr Müller, in particular I would like to purchase the Labillardière (Plant. Nov. Hollandiae)] (i.e. Labillardière (1804-1806).
Sonder also reported that 'Zwei kleine Kisten mit Pflanzen u dergl. ist schon wieder in England angekommen, mit dem ersten Schiffe erwarte ich sie, dabei sind auch Rapporte über Müller’s letzte Reisen' [Two small boxes with plants and the like have already arrived again in England, I expect them with the first ship, with them are also reports on Mueller's last journeys].
M's letter is dated to December 1854 by comparison with letters written from Omeo that convey the same information: M to W. Haines,16 December 1854 and M to W. Hooker, 16 December 1854 (in this edition as 54-12-16a). The letter to Hooker discusses some of the plants found.
