Am 25 Sept. sandte ich per Schiff Christian, Captn Binder ein Packet Drucksachen nebst
Brief an Sie ab.
Mr Grönland was formerly my assistant for several years; has now been in Paris for
12 years and studies botany. When with Webb's death
his engagement to draw plant analyses for him had to be given up, he has recently
found a good firm position for scientific work with a great horticulturist,
during which he will no doubt work something out.

Philip Barker Webb (1793-1854), a British botanist who lived in Paris.
4
Probably Pierre Louis François Levèque de Vilmorin (1816-1860) of Vilmorin & Cie.,
or his successor. See Magnus (1892), but note that Groenland's work with Webb is not
included in that obituary.
Grönland sent me 2 offprints of his work, of which I am giving you one.

On 25 September I sent you per ship Christian, Captain Binder, a parcel of printed matter together with a letter.
