Sir,
I do myself the honor to inform you, for communication to his Excellency the Governor,
that I transmitted this day to the Auditor General the schedulae
shewing the estimates of the probable necessary expenditure in the comming and the
supplementary estimates for this year for the department entrusted to my care and
for the botanic gardens.

After receiving the documents with your instructions, I did not fail to pay instantly
ful attention to your request and after due deliberations with the Superintendent
of the bot. gardens I feel convinced, that the recommended appearently large expenditure
is not greater as called for by urgent necessity.
