Sir,
I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 25th Instant, expressing a
wish to be employed in a Botanical excursion, and proposing certain conditions of
remuneration. The Governor being absent I cannot submit your letter to him and I regret
to say that I can hold out but little hope to you of the Assistance you want.
