necken will.
in Altona wieder an 60 Mark. Wir wollen das beste hoffen. — Herr Grimm ist noch nicht
hier gewesen, werde aber Deines Grusses gedenken. Und somit, lieber Ferdinand, da
mein Pack ganz leer ist, meinen Schluss, lebe recht wohl, und grüsse Schwester Bertha,
und erinnere Dich in brüderlicher Liebe zuweilen
Dein[er D]ich liebenden Schwester
Iwanne.
Deine Iwanne.
Rendsburg, 17 June, 1844
My deepest and sincerest thanks, dear brother, for your dear letter,
even though short. It has made me very happy, for I have longed for a letter from
you for a long time. You were quite correct when you supposed Bertha to be in Tönning,
she left Bartels on Saturday morning with little Clara by an opportune carriage, as
the steamship may not go for another two weeks.

Letter not found.
I have celebrated my birthday very quietly, alone, within my heart, because the Müllers
must have forgotten about it. I have received no congratulations from them, so I
will thoroughly tease them about that tonight. I have just completed a letter to the
Mertens and Bertha, you had best get Bertha to tell you about its contents. I hope
she will visit you in Husum. I am rather lonely here, but the Müllers are quite friendly
towards me, and I am very much looking forward to seeing Bertha back here again, so
I can chat with her.

Theodor Müller and his wife.
The income is small at present, as was to be expected, but God willing I hope to do
some business at the mid-summer fair. We have received a new consignment of flowers,
so our debt in Altona stands once again around 60 Mark. We will hope for the best.
Mr Grimm has not been here yet, but I will remember to pass on your greetings.
And so, dear Ferdinand, to the end, seeing my writing pad is completely empty. Keep
very well, greetings to sister Bertha, and occasionally remember with brotherly love
Your loving sister
Iwanne.
I don't know where I would find enough material to write another whole page.
your Iwanne.
