Schneider gave a musical evening and danced till 2 a.m. I had to stay at home again.
The Mertens are so strange. I suppose I should not dance again. Four of the Mertens
and Clara went to the Land Secretary's house. There were properly printed invitation
cards. Clara looked like a little angel. She and Marie
were dressed in white, but Marie did not look as nice as Clara. Five of them are
having dancing lessons with a Hamburg teacher Herr Herting he always calls Clara a
little doll.

I have some nice dances
you should hear them. "The Alexandre" "Amelia" Waltz etc. Ask Tina
to buy some hooks like she has on her bags. I made Auntie a bag, but could not get
the hooks. Also some dark green or brown or black canvass as required for one side
of pocket, And will you be kind enough to send it and I'll let you have the money.
9
Sheet music for the piano.

Now I must close. Auntie is fairly well. She is weak but didn't have a good night.
