T. R. Wilson Esqr,
Under Secretary.
Sir.
In reply to your memorandum, numbered 6112,
received this day, I have the honor to state, that the following works are under
progress and elaboration officially by myself:
1
See T. Wilson to M, 17 December 1891.
1, The second edition of the "Key to the System of Victorian Plants", which will contain
all additional observations, instituted since 1885 and also numerous additional illustrations.
2, the "third Census of Australian plants, which work by recent discoveries requires
much enlargement.
3, the completing parts of the publication on "Papuan Plants", as a record of the
species, occurring in British New Guinea, and contained in our collections here. I
will do all I can to bring these works as early to a close, as is consistent with
accuracy of research, but I cannot hope to have them completed much within two years
from now.
2
See T. Wilson to M, 31 December 1891. See also M to A. McLean, 28 November 1891, and M to A. McLean, 1 January 1892.
I have the honor to be,
Sir, your obedient servant
Ferd. von Mueller,
Gov. Botanist.
