MS is an illustrated certificate that bears the insignia and shield of the Society
with its motto, 'Concordia res parvae crescunt' [Through harmony small things grow]
above it. The motto comes from Sallust, Jugurtha, 10.6, of which there are many editions (see, for example, Sallust (1849), p. 46).
