Obwohl ich erst mit letzter Post Ihnen schrieb, edler Freund, so muss ich Ihnen nun doch gleich danken für die ausserordentlich liberale Weise, mit welcher Sie meine Anstalt aufs Neue beschenkt haben aus letzter Garten-Erndte[.] In Ihnen ist die Güte mehr personificirt, als in irgend einem anderen meiner so wohlwollenden Collegen. Dies haben Sie auch wieder in der schönen Garten Flora an den Tag gelegt, bei der Besprechung der Myoporinae in einer so grossmüthigen Weise. Man kann wahrhaft stolz sein, mit Willdenow, N. Jacquin verglichen zu sein, u das von Ihnen , selbst einem hervorragenden Monographen

Hoffentlich haben Sie erreicht Dichotom. Key to the syst of Vict. plants I u Select plants 7te Ausgabe. Die Entdeckung, dass alle essb. Cucurbita-Arten ursprünglich aus Amerika kamen, kann ich erst für die 8te Ausgabe benutzen

Hoffentlich geht es Ihnen u den Ihren wohl, u so können Sie ja Ihre vielen Triumphe, auch den von Bologna, in ungetrübtem Lebens-Abend u lieben Familien noch recht lange geniessen.

Although I wrote to you only by last mail, noble friend, I must thank you immediately for the extraordinarily liberal way in which you have enriched my institute once again from your last garden-harvest. In you kindness is personified more than in any other of my so benevolent colleagues. This you have shown again in such a generous way in the Gartenflora, in the review of the Myoporinae.
