Die letzte Post, edler Freund, brachte das werthvolle Packet von Algen, welches Sie so gütig für das Staats Herbarium zurücksendeten. Dass Sie Ihre so kostbare Zeit nach dem mühsamen Benennen auch dem Vertheilen der Exemplare widmen, verpflichtet mich zum doppeltem Danke. So können diese autographisch bezeichneten Exemplare für spätere Generationen die Basis der Studien bilden.
Was von dem ausgezeichneten Wilson kommt, wird immer sogleich registrirt an Sie pr Post spedirt. Möge die neue annuelle Spanne Zeit, welche nun beginnt, für sie

Noble friend, the last mail brought the valuable parcel of algae that you so kindly sent back

for the State Herbarium. That you also devote your so valuable time to the distribution of specimens after the laborious naming, obliges me to thank you twice. Thus these autographically described specimens can form the basis of studies for later generations.
What comes from the excellent Wilson is always immediately forwarded to you per registered post. May the new annual time span, which is beginning now, prove to be a very joyful one for you too.
