The Syncarpia, as you surmised, dear Mr Deane, is S. leptopetala;

its occurrence so far S. is very remarkable, and shall be recorded under your honored name. The new sending of Tillaea makes it approach nearer T. macrantha; but as I cannot now enter on a critical study of the forms allied to each other, I would advise to keep the subject in abeyance, til I shall have in Oct. brought the "Key I" (now in print) through the press.
