I forward you a cheque from Mr W. Moodie of Wando Dale, Coleraine
- the first fruits of the 'Leader' in the 'Spectator';
and I ask you to be kind enough to propose him for membership, and to secure a Seconder.

Vic. The list of members of the Victorian Branch of the Royal Geographical Society
of Australasia, published in August 1890 in vol. 8, part 1, of the Society's Transactions, included 'Moodie, Wm., Coleraine', elected in 1886.

Hamilton Spectator, 14 September 1886, p. 2: ‘The proposal of the Victorian branch of the Geographical
Society to equip a vessel for the purposes of exploration in the Antarctic Ocean is
one which must meet with the approval of every thinking person in this colony... .
The Society does not ask much. It is satisfied with a substantial increase to its
roll of members. The annual subscription is one guinea...’.
I hope I shall have more to follow his Example.
